VI Peel Pre + Post-Care Guide
VI Peel Pre + Post-Care Guide
The VI Peel is a transformative chemical peel designed to rejuvenate your skin. Following these pre- and post-care instructions will ensure optimal results and a smooth healing process.
Pre-Care Instructions
- Avoid Exfoliating Products: Discontinue the use of retinoids, acids, and exfoliating products at least 7 days prior to your appointment to minimize irritation.
- Stay Hydrated: Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer leading up to your treatment.
- Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure for at least 1-2 weeks before your treatment.
- Stop Aggressive Treatments: Do not schedule any waxing, laser, or facial treatments 1-2 weeks prior to your peel.
- Communicate with Your Alchemist: Let us know about any recent cosmetic procedures or medications that may impact your treatment.
- Arrive with Clean Skin: Ensure your face is free of makeup, oils, or lotions on the day of your appointment.
Post-Care Instructions
During the First 7–10 Days:
- Use Only the VI Peel Kit: Stick to the provided kit, including the cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. If you run out, opt for a gentle, non-retinol, acid-free cleanser and moisturizer.
- Post-Peel Towelettes: Use all provided towelettes within the first 48 hours, spacing them at least 4 hours apart.
- Cleanse with Cool Water: Rinse your face with cool water before showering to minimize discomfort and reduce the urge to rub or roll your skin.
- Avoid Excessive Soaking: Do not excessively soak the treated areas before or during the peeling phase to prevent premature peeling.
- Sun Protection: Stay out of the sun as much as possible during peeling. Apply an SPF 30 or higher daily, even indoors.
Peeling Phase Tips:
- Hands Off: Avoid forcing or peeling the skin manually; this can lead to scarring. The skin will naturally slough off during morning and evening cleansing.
- Avoid Irritants: Do not use products or treatments that may burn or sting your skin.
- Stay Cool: Refrain from activities that induce excessive sweating, such as intense exercise, for 72–96 hours to prevent blistering or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Avoid Excessive Treatments: Do not schedule any facial treatments, including waxing, for at least 2 weeks after the peeling phase is complete.
Post-Peel Guidelines:
- Plan Future Treatments: Avoid other chemical peels, laser treatments, or aesthetic procedures for at least 4 weeks post-VI Peel.
